When to Keep Students Home
Students should remain at home when the following symptoms are present:
- Temperature of 100.4 degrees F or greater within the past 24 hours
- Vomiting occurring within the past 24 hours
- Strep infections, untreated ringworm, bacterial conjunctivitis, or impetigo (must be treated with medication for at least 24 hours before returning to school)
- Rash of unknown origin - this may indicate many different things and should be checked by your pediatrician
Activity restrictions keeping students out of Physical Education, lasting longer than one class, need a note from a medical provider. If students are placed on medical restrictions, they will need a medical release (written by their doctor) to be able to return to activities.
